Penny's Prison Stay

 Penny was to start serving her weekend sentence for disobeying a city ordinance.  Already stripped of her jewelry, she stood with her arms outstretched and the Evil Policewoman stood behind. The Evil Policewoman took her purse and ordered her to drop her red dress, which she did. The other women in the cells in this hall cheered when her black lingerie was revealed. The Evil Policewoman took Penny's very long hair from the concealing bun and let the length drop to near her ankles.

The other women were in for a treat. Unknown to Penny, hair beyond the shoulders was not allowed on those serving any time, regardless of the length of the sentence!

The Evil Policewoman, eager since Penny arrived an hour earlier for a show of power, produced a clippers from a pouch in her belt. Sneers came from the others as the clippers were plugged into an outlet and the Evil Policewoman took her place again behind Penny.

In agony, Penny's hair was shorn for the first time in her life to a length above her ears.
